Dear Jill,

 

I am writing to express my gratitude for the Cornell Club of NH Book Award conferred on me this past Tuesday, May 18 at West High School. I was flattered to receive an award linked to a university of such outstanding caliber. I was also pleased to be honored by an institution whose strengths so closely paralleled my own. As an undergraduate I hope to study molecular biology to prepare myself for a career in medicinal research. I have long known that Cornell’s biology programs are some of the most comprehensive in the country and your award has reminded me of their pertinence to my own future. Finally, I found The Elements of Style to be an excellent gift by virtue of its reputation alone – it was immediately recognized by my parents and advisors and I trust that it will be as indispensable to me as it has been to them.

 

I am truly honored to be a recipient of this award. Please express my gratitude to the members of the Cornell Club.
